Volunteering with Central City Concern

Central City Concern utilizes volunteers with varying skills, interests and experiences at all levels of the agency. If you are in individual or representative of a group looking to volunteer, please find our current volunteer opportunities below. Currently for individual volunteers we ask for at least one hour a week commitment for three months. If this is not currently possible for you, we still welcome you to fill out an interest form to meet with the Volunteer Manager to discuss other options.

Old Town Clinic (OTC) Concierge Volunteers

Located in the heart of the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood, Old Town Clinic provides person-centered care to thousands of patients. A key part of creating a welcoming environment for our patients is our clinic concierge team. These volunteers not only provide a friendly face to greet and direct patients; they also assist the Clinic Coordinator and front desk staff in helping the clinic run smoothly.

If you are looking for a weekly volunteer opportunity in a clinical environment, working directly with people experiencing homelessness, submit an interest form today to discuss the opportunity with the Volunteer Manager.

Old Town Recovery Center (OTRC) Living Room Volunteer

The Living Room is a safe, shared place for OTRC patients, many of whom are actively living with and managing behavioral and mental illness. It functions as a place for clients to come and engage in group sessions and find community. Anyone who participates in the Living Room – clients, CCC staff members, interns, and volunteers alike – is known as a member.

Living Room volunteers give their time weekly in a number of ways: helping to serve breakfast and cleaning up; leading activities like yoga, crafts or board games; participating in group sessions with other Living Room members; or even simply coming to the Living Room to hang out for several hours each week. Submit an interest form today.

We provide businesses the opportunity for their staff to engage with our mission by sponsoring meaningful group volunteer events, such as hygiene kit or move-in kit assembly parties to prepare needed supplies for people living in CCC transitional and permanent housing. These events are great for team-building and create a high positive impact on those we serve.

Please contact volunteer@ccconcern.org to discuss a sponsorship opportunity.
