Since 2015, Imani Center has provided mental health and addiction treatment for the Black and African American community. The Imani Center offers individual and group counseling, peer support and limited case management in a culturally safe environment where participants can be themselves. At the Imani Center, you’ll have the opportunity to build community with folks who look like you, with the support of staff members who have lived knowledge of Black culture and the African American experience.
You’ll be connected to a peer support specialist who not only understands the experience of recovery, but the challenges of navigating mainstream treatment programs as an African American/Black individual.
While the Imani Center isn’t a housing program, we can provide referrals to safe and appropriate housing for clients who are engaged in our program.

Please note: You must be a resident of Multnomah County to become an Imani Center client.
We don’t turn anyone away for lack of insurance or inability to pay. We accept Oregon Health Plan, self-pay and some private insurance. Need coverage? We can help you get set up.
Our facilities are clean and safe for in-person visits with your provider. Some Imani Center services are available via phone and video appointments. Learn more about our response to the pandemic.
