After people undergo detox, they may move into one of Central City Concern’s 150 transitional housing units to continue treatment away from old networks and negative influences that could contribute to relapse.
Clients agree to stay clean and sober and continue a verifiable program of recovery. Case managers ensure they maintain treatment, help them access resources such as medical and mental health care and employment benefits, and work with them to develop a plan for permanent housing. CCC’s WorkSource staff helps them gain employment.
Based on their individual needs, clients are in transitional housing for 4-9 months. CCC works hard to assist people to find permanent housing places following transitional housing. Many move to ADFC permanent housing. For others, who are ready to move into the general community, CCC provides rent support and housing placement services.
- In 2007, 162 units of ADFC Transitional Housing resulted in: 181 permanent housing placements and 148 individuals employed at exit. One year after placement, 75% were still housed, clean and sober and employed.
